Blue Card Workshops Announced


The Community Education Team at the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian have again scheduled free blue card workshops in the Brisbane CBD on the following dates:

These interactive workshops discuss the eight minimum requirements that you must include in your Club's Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy as set out in the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 and the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Regulation 2001.


The workshops provide useful information about how your club can create a safe and supportive service environment for children and young people by developing and implementing policies and procedures for managing risks, to assist you to:

  • promote a commitment to child safe service environments
  • enhance the capability of staff and volunteers in providing safe and supportive service environments
  • respond to concerns in relation to identified or suspected harm to young people as well as minimise risks in relation to high risk activities, and
  • encourage consistency in the delivery of services to children and young people.

All Football Brisbane Clubs are encouraged to send a representative to one of these sessions. To register your interest in attending any of the above workshops please contact Steve Creevey by email at steven.creevey@ccypcg.qld.gov.au  or  by telephone on 3211 6834.
